Dr. habil. Anna-Lisa Müller

Vita

Since February 2013, Anna-Lisa Müller is senior researcher at the University of Osnabrück. She habilitated ath the University of Bremen in January 2019 and was awarded the “venia legendi Humangeographie”.  From 2013 to 2019, she was senior researcher and part of the Urban Geography research group at the Institute of Geography of the University of Bremen. In addition, she was a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Geography, Durham University, UK, from February to April 2017. Previously, she worked as research assistant for the research group “Urban Metamorphoses” at HafenCity University of Hamburg. From 2010 to 2012, Anna-Lisa Müller held a scholarship at the international Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology at the University of Bielefeld. In 2013, she was awarded a doctorate with distinction for her doctoral thesis “Green Creative Cities. Designing a type of city in the 21st Century“. For her doctoral thesis, she received the dissertation award of the section on “Urban and Regional Sociology” within the German Sociological Association (DGS).

From 2012 to 2013, Anna-Lisa Müller was Fellow of the residence program “Scholars in Residence” within the German-Egypt and German-Tunisian transformation partnership 2012/2013 of the Goethe-Institute and the KWI Essen. Within the framework of the priority program “(Urban) Culture and Public Space”, she worked on the role of "Öffentlichkeit" and (public) urban spaces for societies, with a particular focus on Egypt and Germany.

In 2007, Anna-Lisa Müller finished her studies of sociology, modern German literature, philosophy and theoretical linguistics at the University of Konstanz with the Master degree. Her master's thesis on the topic of „Language, Subject and Power in the work of Judith Butler” was published in 2009. Subsequently, from 2007 to 2010, Anna-Lisa Müller worked with Prof. Dr. Andreas Reckwitz on the research project “Genealogie und Praxis des Kreativsubjekts” in the Center of Excellence 16, Cultural Foundations of Integration, at the University of Konstanz.
