Our meetings

We meet every
first Friday of a month,
2-3 pm,
in a hybid format (at room 03/E25d and online)

Diversity Working Group

The Diversity Working Group is an open association of employees, initially at IMIS and now also beyond, which pursues the goal of promoting diversity in research and teaching at IMIS, at the department and indirectly at Osnabrück University.

Since 2024, the working group has expanded to include the faculty level. Our aim is to broaden the scope of gender equality work at the department as well as the discussions on diversity and anti-discrimination measures and to anchor these topics more firmly in the department.

We cordially invite all interested IMIS employees and department members to participate in the Diversity Working Group and thus contribute to strengthening diversity and anti-discrimination at the department.

Our activities to date

  • Recommendations for action to promote and deal with diversity at the IMS
  • Workshops on diversity-sensitive and discrimination-critical teaching/learning
  • Handout on diversity-sensitive and discrimination-critical teaching/learning
  • Initiatives for inclusive job advertisements at the UOS
  • Participation in university-wide initiatives to take stock of and promote diversity
  • Networking with Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences
  • Recommendations on how to promote and deal with diversity at IMIS

Meetings

We usually meet on the first Friday of the month (2-3pm) in the Small IMIS meeting room (03/E25d) and/or digitally via the StudIP group AG Diversity at FB 1. We plan activities and exchange information on developments in the field of diversity at IMIS and Osnabrück University. Interested IMIS staff and faculty members are welcome to get actively involved!

Students can contact us at any time for an open exchange of needs and problems as well as student initiatives on the topic of diversity at IMIS and FB01. (This does not replace the student advisory service for the relevant degree programmes (for IMIB: fachstudienberatung-imib@uni-osnabrueck.de)).
