IMIS graduate program
›The production of migration‹

Duration: 2015-2018

On 1st January, 2015 the research training group "The Production of Migration" started its collaborative work. The group brought together highly qualified early career researchers and senior members of the IMIS, with different disciplinary backgrounds and theoretical perspectives. Among the early career researchers were five Phd candidates and two PostDocs, who were financed through scholarships offered by the University of Osnabrück and the Sievert Foundation. Next to the seven grant holders, two other PhD candidates, who are based at the IMIS and whose work fits within the thematic and conceptual focus of the research group, had joined as associate members.

The aim of the research training group was to conduct theoretically innovative and empirically reflexive case studies on the production of migration. The interdisciplinary analysis of the conditions, forms, and consequences of the production of migration ties in with and combines different social theories. In addition to the PhD projects, on-going research projects carried out by members of the IMIS and associated researchers was be presented and developed further in the frame of the research group.
